"Helping you heal, teaching you health" |
Philosophy
In any situation, ask yourself two simple questions:
Which way is life enhancing? Which way is life-diminishing? In Hawaiian, ke kino means "the body". In many ancient traditions, the body (which includes much more than the physical part that we can see and touch) is a sacred carrier of life. Without it, you can get nothing accomplished. At Ke Kino, we are here to help you take care of yourself with life-enhancing activities, methods, and products. We know how busy you are, and we know that you need one place to go to for restoration and gentle self-nurturing.

We strongly believe in using "best practices" from both conventional and complementary healthcare. And we offer you an approach rooted in the Asian-Pacific traditions, emphasizing nature, balance, and respect. Nature We integrate natural surroundings and materials into both our treatments and our classes. For example, exercise classes are held outside whenever possible. Clients can opt for a massage outdoors in beautiful, comfortable, natural surroundings. (It goes without saying that each client's modesty is preserved through proper draping and privacy.) Our treatments feature such elements as sea salt, essential oils, and earth. Inside, natural colors, surfaces, and living things bring the power of nature to balance each client's being. Balance Ke Kino offers several methods that help you bring your health and your life back into balance. Bodywork (including Western and Eastern massage) smooths out physical and emotional tension. Yoga, pilates, and tai chi invite you to feel the joy in movement. Acupuncture and traditional Chinese therapeutic approaches restore the essential balance in your body. Respect Ke Kino honors the essential dignity within each client. We do not see you as someone who needs to be "fixed." Rather, we invite you to explore the wisdom within your being.
