Description of the 500 Hour Basic Massage Therapy Program

The Basic Program consists of the 500 hours required by the Texas Department of State Health Services to become a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Texas. Our 500-hour program is designed to prepare students for the Texas state exam and either the national exam (NCETM) given by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, or the MBLE exam given by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.  Upon passing the state and national exams, you become a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Texas, as well as nationally certified.

Description of the 570 Hour Basic Massage Therapy Program

This program is designed as an extended internship program to give the student more experience in performing clinical massage techniques such as trigger point, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, chair massage, and pregnancy massage. The hours for all classroom work are the same as the 500-Hour Massage Therapy Program. There are 70 more hours of internship beyond the 50 hours in the 500-Hour Massage Therapy Program, bringing the total hours of internship to 120 hours.
